Cold Weather Shelter 748 Mercy
The Mountain View Cold Weather Shelter is planning to be open Nov 27, 2023 – March 31, 2024. This shelter is operated by HomeFirst Services. Adult Eyeglass Clinic
First Saturday of each month, 8am-10am at Hope’s Corner (748 Mercy St, Mountain View, CA 94041).
This program is a partnership with Stanford Housing Equity Project (SHEP) and United Effort Organization. The clinic is able to provide adults reading glasses and prescription glasses for free and with no qualification requirements. The student driven initiative at Stanford University working in partnership with United Efforts Organization (UEO) coordinates the distribution of free glasses donated by Zenni Optical. The SHEP team consists of medical students and undergraduate volunteers. Volunteers are trained to test and order adult (age 18+) reading glass prescriptions on site. However, if someone is requesting prescription glasses to be ordered Zenni does require us to provide a picture of the eyeglass prescription and the prescription must be less than 2 years old.

St. Athanasius Church: Drive-thru food distribution on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at 160 Rengstorff Ave.
Hope’s Corner: Drop-in breakfast and bag lunch offered Mon. 7 to 8 a.m., Wed. 8 to 9 a.m., Sat. 8 to 10 a.m. Showers and laundry services are open Mon. 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Wed. 8:30 a.m. to noon, and Sat. 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. By appointment only.
