5 x 5 x 5 for Hope Fundraiser
Looking for a fun activity you can do outdoors while social distancing? Join the “5 x 5 x 5 for Hope”, Hope’s Corner’s first-ever 5K fundraiser. It’s a virtual 5K that you can do by yourself (or with a friend who’s an appropriate distance away) wherever and whenever you want – as long as it’s by August 5.
It’s an “anything goes” 5K where you can do any activity you want (e.g., walk, run, swim, hike, bike, skate, or whatever) for just a $5 donation (or more, if you like). Then we encourage you to recruit 5 friends to join the fun. That’s 5K x $5 x 5 friends – “5 x 5 x 5 for Hope”. To encourage others to join this event, we hope you’ll post photos and your story on social media (using hashtag #Hope5kChallenge). It’s all about having fun, getting some exercise, and supporting Hope’s Corner.
We’ve had one board member kayak his 5K in the San Francisco Bay and another do his 5K rollerblading backwards. Another participant walked a route that spells “HOPE”. You can be as creative as you want, although you don’t have to do anything unusual. Just walk your dog around the neighborhood, hike at Rancho, bike on the Stevens Creek Trail, or do whatever 5K floats your boat. You’ll be helping us reach our goal of raising $5000 to support Hope’s Corner’s operations and meals program, which provided over 2100 meals to hungry folks in June.
